Who called this number
This is a sample of the owner’s real call log. He gets about three unsolicited calls a day. He did not give these companies his number.
He answers. He writes the date, the time, the name they used, the company they named, and what they offered. Then he drafts a POPIA letter on this site and forwards it himself.
If you believe they have your number, you can use the same drafts. If you do not think they hold your information, do not send the letter.
Do not mail companies that already hold your data because they must. Your bank, SARS, an insurer for a policy you took out.
Do not mail a company because you received a ClearMyPI draft and you are guessing they might have your number.
